Civil Rights Issues Today
In my opinion I think that for the most part America has become less segregated. In two high schools so far segregation is still not solved. Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas is in a way integrated. Different races attend the school but right away you could see that the students are separate. In the classes, the Black kids sit on one side and the White kids on the other. During their lunch period, the White kids ate outside and the Black kids ate inside. Also in the A.P., class there were only three Black girls and the rest were White kids. Most of the kids that need extra help were Black males. Recently a school in Montgomery, Alabama named County High School had a completely segregated prom. One night, on a Friday, the White kids had their prom first. The next night, on Saturday, the Black kids had their prom. I guess that basically it's improving little by little but there is still a long way before the South completely shows that they are not segregated, if they haven't accepted it yet.
